Flat Head Lake Boondocking
After a walk around the town and a restful night’s sleep it was on to Flat Lake on Fort Peak Dam where we dry camped for 2 nights. As it is very early in the season, we had the campground to ourselves. We parked right on the lake and had a beautiful view. The downsides were that the wind blew like crazy, it was fairly cold, and after a walk we returned to the trailer covered with ticks.
We did enjoy being serenaded by the meadow lark and were entertained by the mating ritual and squaring off of 2 male pheasants just outside our door. There were some huge birds in a nest at the top of a very tall pole, but their eerie was so far above us that we could not make out what they were exactly.

Finally Leaving Seattle Going to Grandma's
Sorry for the long hiatus. Life happens and we ended up staying in the Seattle area much longer than planned; in fact for the entire dreary, rainy winter. However we are finally hitting the road again. We hate to share any sort of travel plan with you, as we often find that things happen to prevent us from traveling strictly according to schedule. However, that is the fun of life, the unexpected. We left Seattle on June 15th for a two day trip to Kalispell, Montana to visit a long-time friend of Ellen’s. We had a delightful 3 day stay there.
Leaving bright and early Monday morning we traveled as far as Malta Montana. My grandmother’s home is for sale, so with no one there, we pulled into the large lot she owns next to her house and stayed the night. With such a small community we were surprised that no one came knocking to inquiry who we were.
