Woke up to a glorious day. What can be better than sipping your morning coffee outside while looking at a beautiful glacier and waterfall? We walked a mile or so down a scenic trail along-side a beautiful turquoise glacial stream and around several piles of bear poop, but no bear sightings.

We then turned up the road to the cruise boat for the Portage Glacier tour and arrived in time to catch the next tour out.
This is a large lake with a big glacier at the far end. The tour last a hour and it is amazing to see little ice bergs floating in the water. We did not know or even think about that in fresh water ice bergs are 90% underwater and in salt water it is the opposite? There were not too many people on this sailing so we had a great time and the ranger on the boat was very informative. On the walk back we dedicated ourselves to getting this journal caught up and then we’re off to Whittier tomorrow for another tour. Stay tuned.
