This morning we left the trailer at the campground and drove to visit the totem poles at Kispliox along the river. They are truly magnificent, as you can see from the picture. The Kispiox River is famous for its trophy-sized steelhead. We returned to the campground for lunch and then walked to the near-by ‘Ksan Historic Village & Museum. http://www.ksan.org/ The museum is very informative and there is an excellent gift shop with many tempting treasures. The village is a reconstruction of the traditional Gitsan Village, which stood on the site for centuries. It is located at the confluence of the Bulkley and Skeena rivers. There are communal houses, totem poles and an original dugout canoe. In July and August, visitors can witness traditional dances and ceremonies performed by members of the Gitanmaxx band.
